A pair of Civil War era carved vegetable ivory bracelets strung on elastic featuring tiny tintypes of Union commanders. The bracelets alternate between carved button shapes and beads. One bracelet has three tintypes, the other has two. The tintypes are named so you know who they are. They include:
General George McClellan
General Nathaniel Banks
Admiral Andrew Foote
General William Rosencranz
Brigadier General James Mulligan
All these were heroes of the Union victory in the Civil War. The bracelets are in great shape for fragile 250 year old items. They are strung on new elastic and are wearable. They both have an interior diameter of about 5 cm. relaxed. They were probably made right after the Civil War to celebrate the Union's Victory and the war's conclusion.
